In this tutorial we cover the shading, lighting and rendering of the bedroom scene in Mental Ray. We take a look at a couple of different lighting scenarios, in this case daytime and nighttime, as well as explore some complex materials in Mental Ray. Finally we set up a few of the essential render passes, DOF, volumetric lighting and ambient occlusion.
